Seriously, I've been living in this house for two years now. There are only 2 lamp fittings of this socket type, the other 7 are your standard bayonet fitting (with the exception of the kitchen, which is halogen). What the frick type of lamp is this?! (You'll have to excuse the blurry-ish photos.)

Its called a Compact fluorescent (CFL).
