In a lab environment I have Veeam installed on a Virtual Server within VMWare.

However, If I check within the Backup Job properties on the Virtual Veeam Server there is no option to Encrpt but there is the option within a Backup Copy Job there is, how strange, is it me????

And yes they are both Veeam patched to the Same level

See below Images, the test backup job is on the Virtual based Veeam Server.

Just looked on two different customer systems (running a virtual veeam server) and both have it there. (one is Veeam 9u1 and the other Veeam 9u2)

Thanks very much. Didn't think the Veeam server being Virtual would have any inpact and the option is in Backup Copy jobs so not too sure what is going on

Might post on the Veeam forums or try via PowerShell see if that gives the option, I can schedule the jobs as VeeamZIP via Task Scheduler and Encrypt that way but not really what I am looking for. It is only a demo lab at home though.

Stupid question but you sure that's the full version you installed on the new VM?

Just notice it says VeeamZIP which is the freebie does that support encryption? Unless you're using the freebie alongside the licensed one? (Or is it the ZIP one on both servers which then ignore me :p)

Pretty sure all versions have VeeamZip option and yes you can encrypt jobs via GUI or PowerShell. Always thought it was jus the license key install which gives features not a different install media though. Everything is there including Enterprise Plus options but obviously greyed out.

Seem to of enabled it ok via PowerShell script on a specific job.

The job reported it was going to be encrpyted when run so will test by trying to open backup file on another Veeam server. But the backup files do show an icon showing encrption so all looks good.
