New Smoothwall Appliance - Cannot access any FTP sites

Hello everyone,

 

Yet another Smoothwall question from me.

 

Since installing the Smoothwall appliance we are no longer able to access any remote FTP Sites such as ftp.dell.com. I get a "Kerberos/NTLM authentication failed" page displayed. What do I need to do to allow access to remote FTP Sites?

You haven't got ftp blocked as a port have you? Shoudln't be anything else you need to do.

FTP is allowed. When trying to access a FTP site in IE it just hangs and doesn't go anywhere and when trying it in Google Chrome it comes up with that authentication failed page.

Many thanks for your response - however, if I want to access ftp.dell.com for example it won't let me. How do I get round this?

Have you tried making it a proxy exception/ authenication exception, so that the actual filter is deifnitely not getting in the way? If so then it has to be with the firewal I would think.
