Windows 10 and WSUS

I'm having a problem with some windows 10 computers and WSUS. When I do a check for updates I get an error message saying it cant be connect to the update service service?

 

Windows Update failed to check for updates with error 0x80072EE5.

 

Anyone else had this problem?

Is it all the Windows 10 machines or just some? I'd check that WSUS has got the Windows 10 updates.

Do you go through a proxy

 

Set your proxy through a admin command prompt with this

 

netsh winhttp set proxy proxyaddress:port

 

I had this problem which was not update correct and was not downloading properly

We do use a proxy for the internet but have onsite wsus server.

 

All windows 10 updates have been approved.

You'll need this installed, I found an WSUS issue during my MDT build for 1607. It would just hang.

I would if it will talk to my wsus server. The wsus server is fully patched.

As a test apply the patch and then see if you get the error after.

It might be because of KB3159706. This patch for WSUS enables it to decrypt ESD files for deployment of Windows 10 upgrades. Here is the post install instructions via reddit....
