I have just noticed that my Windows 10 Pro lock screen is showing adverts over the lock screen picture. These adverts are clickable, the result of the click being shown in the Windows store after unlocking.

We don't have Windows 10 yet, but we expect to deploy it in a small way part way through next term. Before that happens I would like to be able to block these adverts as we don't have any control over what is advertised: Who knows what might pop up as an advert? Also: Advertising in schools to a captive audience, young minds, is not something I would like to be involved with.

I hope there is/will be a GPO for it.

If you disabled the store in group policy the ads shouldn't redirect you.

I wouldnt use pro for various reasons this one included. Admittedly I wasn't aware of this feature and my mind was made up about which version of 10 we would use. I have win 10 edu installed on my computer and I don't recall seeing this feature you described. My opinion would be to use edu over pro anyway. This should be available as part of your licensing and should be visible in vlsc.

We don't see these on Education edition. Are you planning on deploying Pro?

I had until I saw this. Now it might be the Education Edition, or Pro using the method indicated by @Arthur (above)

If you can choose between Pro and Education then the latter is a no brainer due to extra features such as AppLocker, DirectAccess, Group Policy control of the Start Menu etc.
