Tracking Internet Usage

Morning all,

 

I've recently started as a network manager and wondering what the current law is about keeping track of user's Internet usage? At moment we filter by AD groups, but doesn't seem to track their usage etc. How long do you keep track? Plus could you give an estimate of storage requirements.

We use a smoothwall proxy here for internet filtering and tracking, I don't believe it has any limits on storage.

We introduced NetSupport DNA this year. Took ten mins to download and pushed the agent out via GPO. It has a monitoring and filtering sections built in along with loads of other useful tools.
