Trim photos down for ID cards

I, and I'm sure "we", have 200+ new pupils starting in September. Photos against a plain background, but otherwise just a landscape torso-upwards photograph. How do you process these for use in MIS and ID card systems? Do you manually crop each one? Have you found a piece of software which is mostly reliable for the job?

IrfanView will do batch jobs.

For others looking; File > Batch Conversion/Rename > Use advanced option (Checkbox) > Advanced button > CROP.

Ditto for Irfanview - you can use command line to batch process as well, if you want to schedule it or have it process different folders etc.

XNConvert - we use it for everything from cropping ID photo's and MIS pictures to shrinking images files in user areas.

Got most of the settings saved to files so we can all import the sames ones
