Hi

Our ICT teacher has asked to install the Visual basic on the ICT PCs and I don't have much idea of this product. Please can you let me know the version that I need to install. Will this needs to be installed on the workstations \on the server and create a shortcut on the workstations.

Thanks and your suggestions would be great

Visual Basic stopped being developed in 2008, so check exactly what they want.

VB.net is the current langauge.

However that's a language, can't install it.

The compiler is most likely already installed, as it comes with .net framework, see Is there a VB.NET compiler to download? - Stack Overflow

What you want is an editor, perhaps an IDE, maybe a GUI designer.

So anything from notepad, to Visual Studio Community Edition https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee225237.aspx

Also there's Visual Studio Code, or Notepad++ VB.Net Programming Using Notepad And Command Prompt (Part I) - VB.NET Tutorials | Dream.In.Code

There's also Visual Studio Express, but that's mostly discontinued now in favour of VS:CE
