Backup Assist - Backup to a QNAP NAS from two seperate domains?

I am trying to backup using backup assist from two sepearte domains. The domain the the NAS is joined to backs up servers fine but the server on the other domain will not pass the checks to find the QNAP NAS. There is a trust set up as sims is hosted on one domain and used on the other and there are file shares across the two domains.

 

Anyone have any ideas how to get this to work?
