Hi All,

 

Please can anyone give me the codes to put on a school website for google language translator.

 

We want parents and students to be able to translate the school website with language of their choice.

One key exception to using the Google translate button is when your website is "Google Sites" based - it isn't compatible. Took me ages to realise that the facility is built in. If you're using Google sites, it works out when the website's native language is different to the default set in the browser and translates automatically.

Is there any need to add a translate button when the translate feature is already built into the browser or can easily be added?

At a guess, I'd say that

 

a) Not everyone who uses Chrome knows about a function buried away underneath the right click menu. Not everyone even knows the right click menu is even there.

b) Not everyone uses Chrome

c) Not everyone who doesn't use Chrome uses or even knows extensions for browsers

d) Putting the button on the website helps people by putting the functionality front and centre. It's a lot more user friendly.
