snagrat Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 I have a server not booting. There is no backup to recover from. It is a virtual server and as soon as it starts it loads into recovery. I have tried all the bootrec and bootsect commands but it just loops into recovery. It won't even give me the F8 command to try safe mode. Any ideas anyone?
snagrat Posted June 21, 2016 Author Posted June 21, 2016 It's the SCCM server but I lied I do have a backup so recovering the boot drive now
rrrrr Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 If it's just a file server, you could mount the vhd file in disk management to recover files
3s-gtech Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Erk, yeah I was hoping it wasn't a highly integrated database or similar - glad you have a backup, hope it works!
snagrat Posted June 21, 2016 Author Posted June 21, 2016 Restored the boot drive and all working again
