After an extensive review of our ICT provision we are prepared for the next stage of our journey to deliver first class ICT Support to all our pupils and staff. Our challenge is not to provide technical answers to the problems we face but teaching & learning solutions that utilise technology for the benefit of teaching and learning and to become a world class school. The IT Administrator will possess joint responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the IT support service across the school, ensuring that the appropriate service levels are maintained, and the service is aligned to user needs. The IT Administrator will be accountable for the delivery of the school’s IT strategy including both day-to-day support and project work. They will be jointly responsible and accountable for developing, managing, and implementing all IT projects. The successful candidate must work collaboratively with all key stakeholders including external support partners to understand their requirements. Your responsibilities will include: •Implement and monitor the annual IT budget ensuring best value for the school. •Maintain infrastructure (Network, Hyper-V, Servers, Backup, Updates, VLANs) •Provide frontline technical support for Windows users •Maintain Security updates and patches for all servers •Manage and Maintain Hyper-V Servers. •Monitor performance and reliability of various systems including server logs •Recommend best practices and improvements to infrastructure, servers and systems •Configuration and management of all computing equipment including clients and printers •Management of the network infrastructure. •Support the development and implementation of applications •Maintain documentation for all systems •Provide technical support to the different departments of the school when required Essential Skills •Microsoft Hyper-V. •Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 R2. •Microsoft Windows 7/8.1. •Software packaging and distribution. •IP networking: switches, VLANs, DNS, DHCP. •Microsoft Office 2013. •Active Directory, GPO. •Storage Hardware (SAN/NAS) •Server Hardware. •System Security, anti-virus, SPAM protection. •Good Documentation Skills. •WDS/WSUS •Desktop Support. •Thin Client Environments. •SQL Server 2012. •Disaster Recovery. •Remote Desktop Services. •Excellent communication and problem solving skills. •Enthusiastic and willing to participate on IT tasks as required.
