speckytecky Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I was looking up how to create Hiren's on a USB drive and discovered excellent YouTube video by Britec - much easier than all the other tutorials I have found. Trying to teach grannies how to suck eggs for many on here I know but thought I'd share it anyhow I'm currently trying to sort out a 500GB HD from an Acer laptop that's reporting Code 128 in file 764 (recordable file record segment 19476 is not writeable) when I run chkdsk in an external caddy. 1
dry Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 The first time I used Rufus, I struggled to create the bootable USB drive (user error almost certainly, I'm sure) but found Microsoft's Windows USB/DVD Download Tool, which will create a bootable USB drive from an ISO. Have been using it ever since and it's been very reliable. See http://wudt.codeplex.com
mavhc Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 I just use easy2boot, just put multiple isos on usb stick, works 99% of the time
