This is odd - Windows backup IS doing incremental to shared folder.

We have offsite backup for DR but I also do onsite backup to an old server at each of my small primary schools. Odd thing is that at only one school the backup is doing incremental backups and not full over-writing backup each night as MS states will happen if backing up to a shared folder.

 

I have tested a restore and can choose a different date to restore back too and the backup only takes a few minutes to run each night rather than the hours and hours it takes at my other schools.

 

I setup the backups at each school and in the same way.

 

Whats going on?
