kcalderw Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Having an issue adding a printer via GPO. I've deployed this printer the same way I've done all ours and this will not show on the client. Using gpresult the printer does show up via GPO but does not show under devices. This is the process I always use: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731292%28v=ws.11%29.aspx Looking at event viewer I get this error: Group Policy was unable to add per computer connection \\DC\Library HP M401. Error code 0x52e. This can occur if the name of the printer connection is incorrect, or if the print spooler cannot contact the print server. Any suggestions?
kcalderw Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 I can yes, but the other printers have spaces without issues.
kcalderw Posted May 26, 2016 Author Posted May 26, 2016 Group Policy was unable to add per computer connection \\DC1\Library_HP_M401. Error code 0x6ba. This can occur if the name of the printer connection is incorrect, or if the print spooler cannot contact the print server. This is not happening on another machine in the same OU.
SimonWindisch Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Can you manually add the printer? You might get an error with a bit more information.
HBPS Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 [Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Deployed Printers] [user Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Deployed Printers] Check both locations make sure its set to deploy to the computer and user
kcalderw Posted May 27, 2016 Author Posted May 27, 2016 Got it. It was a driver issue. Changed it to HP Universal PS and it works fine now. The printer still does not show up under devices for the local administrator account though.
