Had a problem with windows 7 black screen of death with cursor problem not booting into safe mode or allowing system restore .

 

Tried everything, anti virus, malware bytes, system restore, last known good, uninstall in updates from cmd, chkdsk variations and finally got it fixed today with...

The tool which I thought was there for show and has never done anything for me in 10 years of Ict finally came through for me today.

 

Sorry I ever doubted you. Interested to know your experiences with this and if Sfc is actually a bit a dark horse and not just "something everyone seems to try that never works" since I abandoned it as a step never worth taking a couple of years ago

It's only helped me once as well. Fixed my sccm server last year when it didn't come back from a reboot. Probably used it 100-200 times before that it actually did something to help me.
