Blocking access to AirPlay using Meraki

We are using Airserver in our classrooms, and I need to stop pupils from being able to reflect their iPads onto the screen.

I can add a password using Airserver, but it still covers the screen and interrupts the lesson.

 

Meraki suggests on this blog that you can block Airplay access to none approved devices, but I can't work out how.

I've ticked the box, and added a non-existent Device ID. But all the classrooms are still listed on each iPad in the Airplay section when you swipe up.

 

Has anyone had any success with this?

If I set a fixed password then it doesn't interrupt the lesson and users are just prompted for a passcode on the iOS device.

That's excellent.

 

I've also discovered that the Meraki option does work, it's just not obvious. The list of devices still appear on the iPad but they never reflect.
