Hybrid Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Afternoon all, Have any, or many of you had much success with 3rd party lightning cables? I have a primary school that seem to be going through poundshop ones at a rate of knots. The cables are either completely dying, or coming up with the error relating to 'unsupported accessory'. Any recommendations? Cheers
tmoon-mint Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Look for "MFI certified" cables. They tend to work the best although come with a slightly bigger price tag. MFI certified cables will get rid of the unsupported accessory warning and tend to be more reliable.
steveg Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 We get the unbranded ones from Hills Components, and touch wood haven't had any problems so far, have had about 30 in use for around 3 months now with none coming back to me. Steve

Steve In other words how to start a fire in your school.......cheap Chinese made cables will come back and bite you
XiJ Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 At home I use 'yellowknife' mfi certified ones from Amazon. I find them better than the apple ones.
Iain.Faulkner Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 I tend to buy the amazon branded ones now, really pleased with them never had a problem
Hybrid Posted May 13, 2016 Author Posted May 13, 2016 Great stuff. Thanks for the responses. I'll see what I can find out there. I'm particularly interested in the MFI Certified cables too.
