Redirect folders to OneDrive

Hi,

 

Just wondering if anyone has managed to successfully redirect library folders to OneDrive? I'm trying to setup a test and so far i haven't managed to get it working. I have followed this article but the redirection fails with the typically Microsoft error: Cannot complete this function

Its probably better if you Sync rather than redirect.

 

 

I've was told by MS a few months ago that there was a big storage limit on syncing to onedrive.

 

They however did say that they were increasing it. Whether they have yet I don't know. I was looking to sync 1.5TB.

You'll probably need to make sure all the URLs O365 uses are a member of trusted sites.

Thanks for th comments. I seem to have got a little further. I have figured out why it hasn't been working but i'm not sure how to fix it. It was failing because the userprofile variable replaces C:/Users/username but the local profile that is being created for my test user (joebloggs - original, i know!) is c:/users/j.bloggs.DOMAIN - Does anyone know how to either remove the .domain or create a variable that ignores it?

We are going to move all users home drive from a file server to onedrive.

 

Has anyone done this? After migration we want all users to save their work onto onedrive.

 

Can someone advice ?

I've actually managed to complete the redirection and it is working! After a lot of head scratching and trawling of the net, the answer was right in front of me! I have used the following path to get around the .DOMAIN issue.

 

c:\users\%username%.DOMAIN\OneDrive - Organisation name

 

So far so good on initial testing.

Yes we do this.

 

But we use IAMCloud to map the network drive so the end user doesn't really know much about it

One more question.. All the computers are use by different network user so how do you configure a computer to multiple users for their own onedrive.. Each time they login?

 

Is it possible with W10 - create a one generic local user account to login to computer and when it come to save data, end users save their files using network account onto onedrive.

The IAMCloud software handle all of it.

 

I don't believe there is a way to do it with the native OneDrive app built into Windows
