Changes to storage limits - OneDrive

We want to let you know about some upcoming changes to OneDrive. On August 10, 2016, the amount of storage that comes with OneDrive will change from 15 GB to 5 GB. We are also discontinuing the 15 GB camera roll bonus. You can learn more at our FAQ.

There is no action you need to take, because your OneDrive account is currently below the new storage limits. Even though you aren't currently affected, we want to keep you updated on all important changes to OneDrive. If you'd like to check your account, you can visit the Storage page.

We realize these are big changes to a service you rely on. 

We want to apologize for any inconvenience they may cause you. We made a difficult decision, but it's one that will let us sustainably operate OneDrive into the future.

Just had an email from them. Guessing this only affect personal accounts as I don't use it that much.

Yeah it does. I got an email giving me a year of office 365 for free as they graded me as a heavy user.

I'm currently using a little over 15GB and am on their free plan, so this will affect me.

 

Quite tempted to pay the £1.99/month for 50GB of space, seeing as Google Drive's free space allowance is 15GB!

I had a similar email telling me I would be over the limit in July and offering a free 1 year O365 subscription (which I'll take up in July) or I may just make use of the 100Gb that BT provide me with.

I think it depends on which package you have.

They told me I could keep my 10Tb for another year - I don't even use my free 43Gb let alone my 365 space. I struggle to go past 100Gb including my entire photo library and music collection. I don't actively use Onedrive as I prefer its competitors. Mine is O365 uni - I've never used my free Skype minutes either!
