Australian entrepreneur Craig Wright has publicly identified himself as Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto.

His admission ends years of speculation about who came up with the original ideas underlying the digital cash system.

Mr Wright has provided technical proof to back up his claim using coins known to be owned by Bitcoin's creator.

Prominent members of the Bitcoin community and its core development team have also confirmed Mr Wright's claim.

From the looks of things, it does appear that Wright is a very good conman (in my view anyway!). I think we'll see this come out conclusively sooner rather than later.

Just confirms that he was a conman to be honest. His excuse makes no sense - he's already in the limelight, and backing out won't make the limelight go away. All it'll do is damage his reputation further.
