Di27 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Setting up reports using SIMS profiles where I want to have one or more pages to print for each pupil . I can get the content to work but not the page break. Any suggestions? Thanks
Jonsi Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Can you give more details about the page break problem?
Di27 Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 At the end of each section, I put the close/Open commands as I thought this was the page throw ie<><> On our other pupil reports, there are standard sized tables for data/comments and these have been sized to force the page throw. The reports I am creating have tables also but will vary in some content. Once I know the content for each subject, I could follow the same pattern and maybe set up hidden table rows to make up the page size (if you get what I mean). But I would rather not have to do that. Hope this makes sense! Thanks
Jonsi Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I see. I just go to Outline View and adjust the page breaks accordingly. I place the Open Report Section at the top of the page (after the previous page break) and the Close Report Section at the bottom of the page (before the next page break). It seems to work fine for me. 1
Di27 Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 Sounds stupid now I see how easy it is!! Thanks for replying so quickly
Jonsi Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Glad to help! In case you didn't know, you only need to use the Open/Close Report Sections if there are pages in the template that might not be relevant to every pupil and without any data e.g. GCSE optional subjects. Otherwise, just correctly placing the page breaks is enough.
