This is definitely a MS play to re-capture customers who have an iPad + MDM setup currently. Competition in action. However these tools will be less useful for school with bigger ICT support.

@Dos_Box did you hear anthing about the Surface Hub for Education when you were at Microsoft?

 

Personally I am dissatsfied with the InfraRed touch technology used by other touch screens and have heard that the Surface Hub usues superior tech but is very costly.

 

Perhaps the tech will come down in price enought to sell to schools without the video conferencing hardware included.
