Slow logging in - Folder Redirection in Windows 7

Hi there

Suddenly it's got really slow for the students logging in here. It's getting stuck at the Folder Redirection Policy.

I can't think of anything that has changed here in the last few weeks.

This is a big subject I realise but are there any tips or things I might be able to check? The students here use a mandatory profile...I am going to copy the policy and work through it but I just don't know where to start.

Does it say anything in the Event Logs?

Hi Chuckster.

I can see one yellow warning - The Folder Redirection Policy Application has been delayed until the next logon because the group policy logon optimiaton is in effect.

We found out what the issue was. Well I didn't but my clever manager did.

In User Configuration/Windows Settings/Folder Redirection - if you right click over 'Favourites' and go to properties/settings we had to untick 'Grant the User exclusive rights to Favourites' and untick 'Move the contents of Favourites to the new location'.

There was an error in event log ( a red error ) that had Favorites in it - it was trying to copy favorites from an old server.....
