Amazon launch new Kindle. For £270!!

As much thought as I've given to it, I really can't envisage them selling many of these!

For some context, you can now buy an iPad Mini 2 (retina) for £199 on Amazon or choose from a whole raft of 10" Android tablets for less than that!

It is really expensive, that being said I would not swap my £100 kindle paperwhite for any other device (I have actually bought 2 as my first one vanished during a house move). It has a horrible interface, creating collections, adding books and organising them is clunky and annoying but it is hands down the best reading device I have ever used. Super light, days and days of battery life and the e-ink is a million times better to read from than an LCD/LED display. They are also pretty bullet proof and will take a lot more of a beating then any tablet which makes them perfect for travel (mine has survived for years traveling all over the place chucked in my carry on baggage).

 

If I had money to burn I would definitely buy one, they are certainly aimed at people with money to burn though.
