cazm0 Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Hi, We are currently going through the wonderful task of renegotiating our photocopier contract around our reprographics dept and tasked with making efficiency savings as well. We have been with Xerox forever, currently running a 4112, 4127 monos for everyday work such as worksheets, exam booklets and a 560 for our specialist work such as prospectuses, flyers, postcards etc. While the kit has been good (4127,4112 are showing their age now from a 5 year contract, heavy use and now have regular call outs) the service hasn't been the greatest and Xerox are currently dragging their feet over presenting us with new costs, recommended hardware etc. (spent 3 weeks chasing and nothing but excuses). We have been looking at alternatives from local companies who are recommending: Sharp: MXM1204FK and MX6500NFK Konica (Develop): Ineo +454e and Ineo + 1070e Ricoh: Ricoh Pro 8110s and Ricoh Pro 5100s Does anyone have any experience with these machines? While we want to get a good deal we don't want to compromise reliability over costs.
MatthewL Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 The Sharp mono machine (MX-M1204) is a good machine, I have seen some good results from the MX-6500 too but Xerox are a different league of machines. I would recommend you going to see one in use and take your reprographics persons with you to check they are happy with the colour. I know people who have say a mono Sharp machine and a colour Xerox or Toshiba one. Decision is how much do you want to spend and for what quality.
TechRed Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 We moved to a Xerox System last summer, an important focus for us is the service and support side of things which has been lacking on many of the previous agreements with vendors. We needed a print company who understood the schools requirements but also have the key contacts so when we had a problem we were speaking to people who knows the school, the setup and was the best place to find a resolution as opposed to call centres etc. You would think its fairly common place but it not from our past vendors. We decided to go to XOS UK who have been really good with making sure we had the right system but also the support has been excellent. They are regularly in touch making sure everything is OK and any problems and quickly resolved.
ColinP Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 We Just installed a Fleet of Toshibas From Kew computers. They do most of their work for schools. We always get great service from them and they do all the legwork getting papercut setup etc. If your in the south east maybe give them a call? 0844 887 0006
