Quick question

 

So we have Netgear GS724T switches, what are the HP equivalents with and without POE ? Also looking at 48 port maybe

I would assume the 1910-24G as a like gs724t. We went for the 2530-24g when we switched.

Even the 1820 would compete favourably with the Netgear. Here's a quick spec;

Just been looking at the HP 2530-48G non-poe version and I am a little confused as the spec Ive seen mentions 4xSFP (1GB fibre) but further on in the details it mentions SFP+ (10GB Uplinks)

 

Is this native or a add on module?

There are many variants of the 2530, 16 in fact. The J9853/4/5/6A have 2 x SFP+ ports, the rest have 2 x SFP Edited April 1, 2016 by njc235

Do you need a PoE switch?

Maybe, we are possibly moving over to VOIP, and we run Ubiquiti unifi and cctv (although I just use their 8 port toughswitches for the POE budget)

 

Im considering the injection route as theoretically we could just be looking at a few ports being used on each POE switch
