Theldron Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Hi all, Went to do a Exam today and noticed that auto discovery of the invigilator dashboard is no longer working? It worked fine about 5 weeks ago. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers Sean
FN-GM Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 It might help if we had some more information as to the actual problem.
kevin_lane Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 check firewall but also the invigilator has to be running first
6Foot2 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 We had a similar problem. We [Network Support] were under the impression that exams using Pearson software were over for the foreseeable future so we took the opportunity to swap out the old invigilator station for a newer one. Without letting us know an exam was scheduled. When the stations were started they couldn't find the invigilator station [Of course!] Our solution: Install the invigilator software. Remove Pearson Test Player at each station and re-install. Everything was up and running again within half an hour. HTH.
linkazoid Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I configured one client to point to the correct invigilator, then copied the files from %LOCALAPPDATA%\TdpClientData\ to a network share, configured a GPO to push these out to clients. Bingo works great! 1
Theldron Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 Its ok I sorted it, the invigilator cant be using wireless. The PCs wont discover it if it is.
CyberDrac Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Its ok I sorted it, the invigilator cant be using wireless. The PCs wont discover it if it is. They're probably on a different VLAN
Latham Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 They're probably on a different VLAN Yeah - we found this out as well. If you know the IP address/computer name of the invigilator PC then it works with other VLANs.
