Will a new PC with Windows 10 Pro work with Windows Server 2008 without any changes

Our server is Windows 2008 R2.

All our current PCs are Windows 7 Pro. Our new tablets and perhaps new desktops will be Windows 10 Pro. Will they work on our network just like our Windows 7 PCs when I join them to the domain? Will everything be the same such as desktops and folder redirection? Will I need to import the Windows 10 ADMX files? Which policies will need setting if any?

It will work and you can import the ADMX files from the client.

 

You will have issues imaginably with start menu redirect, fellow edugeekers have found it easier to deploy Classic Shell and use that.

 

The rest will be a bit of trial and error, build a machine up, see what works and doesn't and create and ammend GPOs for Win10 clients accordingly!
