Koldov Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Hi, Not really sure whether to put this in the server forum or not? This issue is bugging me lately as I do not like seeing errors on my servers, I have contacted our support and they have said it is not critical and does not affect SIMS operation or the database integrity.... The configuration information of the performance library "perf-MSSQL$SIMS2014-sqlctr12.0.2000.8.dll" for the "MSSQL$SIMS2014" service does not match the trusted performance library information stored in the registry. The functions in this library will not be treated as trusted. As much as my OCD twangs when I see it, should I leave it alone? I'm not very confident with SQL and database management, but is there a really simple fix? Do I even need the performance counters? Could I just uninstall them? All this bearing in mind it is a live/production SIMS database... Kol.
Sagima Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 (edited) You don't need the performance counters but they are reasonably simple to fix should you want to monitor it (or as you seem to really hate eventlog errors it will clear those up) You can wait til easter if you want but I don't see why any of this would be noticeable by anyone else This webpage has the necessary instructions for sql 2014 Restore Missing SQL Server Performance Counters | SQL Server content from SQL Server Pro You do sound a bit like you don't trust your sql backups though so you could also schedule in a test restore during the hols Edited March 17, 2016 by Sagima 1
Koldov Posted March 17, 2016 Author Posted March 17, 2016 Well, not so much I don't trust them as such... But I don't deal with any part of SIMS or SQL as we have a support contract and as I said they don't seem too bothered. It's only me that sees the errors on the server and wants to clear them up, so I didn't want to do anything that might mess it up and have to pay the support fee for them to come and fix it! Kol.
