Gongalong Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Hi folks, I've had the request here for what is probably a tablet - something lightweight but that can be protected (bumper case?) that will allow a couple of SEN students with some physical limitations to write during lessons, so it would need a stylus. My immediate thought was a Microsoft Surface, but are there any other options you've come across that have worked particularly well with SEN students? I've been told the more it can do, the better, but that's going to be limited somewhat by the above criteria. Thanks
Scifigirl Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 I work in a SEN in school, and my question would be: What kind of physical limitations - if its writing wise, wouldn't an ipad and Clicker work well.... it can be adapted to work with most physical difficulties 1
VeryPC_Colin_M Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 How about a Classmate 2in1? I'd think that'd be a great solution to this. Ruggedised (IP51), Lightweight, has a carry handle built into the keyboard dock which allows for multiple viewing positions, and comes with a stylus. Now comes in white and black which looks better too (better than the blue and white pics here anyway); https://www.very-pc.co.uk/products/mobile-device/classmate-2-in-1 1

Both the students in question get tired quickly from using traditional keyboards, and find them difficult to use, hence a stylus is better. We have a Surface Pro 2 here, which they're going to look at.
