win Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Got the free avast business cloud version which is working ok, but on a few W7 computers it is preventing logons giving this error: "The user profile service failed the logon" It is definitely avast because if i uninstall it, logins are fine. What i tried so far: - Disabling all shields (separate test template) - all combos for disabled / manual / delayed start for avast services Need to change options in troubleshooting, but it is not on the web console and if done on machine it reverts back to original setting on reboot. Anyone know how to change troubleshooting settings e.g. "load avast services after system services" etc.
Michael Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I would say whitelist the svchost.exe process, but this is used by a wide range of Windows services and wouldn't be a good idea. I presume you've reported the issue and sent any relevant event logs?
win Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 Just added svchost.exe and for troubleshooting purposes i added C:\* but still the same problem. Haven't contacted avast yet - that's the next step, thought i'd try here first
win Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 Contacted avast, turns out their latest update 11.1.2510 is borked! Turn off auto update and wait for their developers to sort it out.
