dantheitman Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Hi all, Had anyone invested in Clevertouch for their IWB solution? We are considering purchasing 6 of them, but want to make sure they will last longer than our Smart boards (5-6 years). The Clevertouch boards come with a 5 year on site warranty, but we want to be sure they will last longer than that!
Cazale Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Have a couple in a primary. Teachers and kids love them, but they were a complete nightmare on my side to get working. We had all sorts of issues getting it through the proxy (and even had to wait for 2 or 3 firmware updates before they fixed the proxy setting). After the firmware updates they still wouldn't communicate on the net, our ISP asked for some technical details (ports and urls to unblock), it was like trying to pry an official secret from a member of Mi6! It literally took months, and god knows how many hours of my time with phone calls not answered, e-mails not replied too, etc. Since then we've been installing "normal" TVs, at a fraction of the cost. The Clevertouch software is nice, but really not essential (and of course, it's far cheaper to buy a normal TV and a tablet and mirror/stream the tablet, if you really need too!). 1
Arreks Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 They'll last 5-6 years if you have warranty/support, you'll probably need to call out engineers a lot.
Joanne Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 We've got 14 of them (older models without android) and they are excellent. Most issues tend to be user related. Had a couple of issues in regards to warranty and the engineers are efficient and got things sorted quickly. One of the boards I had had a couple of dead pixels in the middle and they swapped it straight out. 1

Thanks Rob
