Hey guys,

I work in a Primary school as IT technician, we are thinking about installing Imperro in the ICT suite. Have any of you used Imperro? I like the software and I have also seen the demo, but I have seen an article about them having security issues. If you have an opinion or previous experience with them please comment below.

Thanks, zRl

As much as I love Impero for their support and functionality, it would always be wise to shop around. Look at Netsupport and Lanschool as two popular alternatives.

What is it you're looking for though? If it's just teacher control of a single ICT suite and nothing more then perhaps even the free iTalc will suffice?

I've used Impero for about 6ish years now, and it's a great piece of kit... and cheaper than getting all the alternatives separately elsewhere if you use all the features...

It ticks all the boxes for e-safety / anti-radicalisation, and the support's fantastic...

Thank you for your reply, I will check those other ones as well. All we really need it for is logging everyone in at the same time, block their screen when we want to (so just to basically make them listen), share a document to all of them at the same time and help teachers manage the class the way they want to.

I am a sponsor on EduGeek, so best to declare that first. Our Education suite NetSupport DNA, which includes NetSupport School classroom management, covers all the same core functionality as Impero but also adds lots of extra education specific features. We too include a full esafety / radicalisation module as well as lots of unique tools to help teachers manage students in the classroom - Assessment tools, learning journals, Teacher journals recording content and progress made in the classroom etc. We also offer as an option a low cost ServiceDesk. As many have commented our prices for the suite come out as less than Impero, often even when comparing our lifetime licence with a subscription.

You can download, deploy and be gathering data in 30 minutes, so i would recommend you give both NetSupport DNA and Impero a try, and compare before you make a decision. Happy to ensure the price as well as features fit the budget.
