EduGeek (1).png

EduGeek is again hosting its own Minecraft server, for the use of any and all members of the site who wish to play. Hopefully the first of a number of gaming servers.

ResonantRise.jpg

The server is now running Resonant Rise: Mainline, available via the ATLauncher. All the optional mods are installed except EiraIRC. You can pick between JourneyMap and VoxelMap.

To log in to the server, you will first need to update your profile, adding your Minecraft username to the relevant field. The whitelist will update every 2 hours.

Server address: mc.edugeek.net

Dynmap: http://mc.edugeek.net:8123

We have a TS now! It should be mostly ready, connect to ts.edugeek.net and please try and using a bookmark to set your username to your EduGeek username for membership tags.

UPDATE 18/03/16:

A small note to everyone. As mod packs don't update all their mods very often, I can suggest making one minor tweak to the client config files, to reduce the amount of "A new version of..." spam on logging in.

In the config folder for your client instance, edit the cofh/common.cfg file. Change "EnableUpdateNotifications=false" to "EnableUpdateNotifications=true".

The game will work without it, but you'll get notifications on logging in.

Fire away...

You asked for it.

How about an additional MineCraft server which has the ability to switch between the modes (for those of us.. okay me..) that love the "Building" element of MineCraft.

With potentially a few mods e.g. Fast Build, ability to import in to a world and copy/paste from that one to the main world and possibly down the line with some "RPG" Mods.

I guess what I am asking is perhaps a server that I can build till my heart has stopped. That it becomes so big and huge (if popular too) it has the ability to become an RPG World, which of course I can continue to develop.

I'm probably barking up the wrong tree or wishing for too much......

I can fire up a vanilla creative server pretty quickly/easily - dunno about the rest! Would want to see if anyone else wanted to use it though I think! :)

That's completely understandable. I will ask a few people I know who did it before, if they would be interested in this.

Much appreciated either way.

Can I ask a stupid question? I'm pretty sure the answer is going to be no... but can I join this from my PS4? Or is it platform specific?

Sadly no, its platform specific. The console version of the game is built from a completely different set of code to the PC version - its the same code as the portable version.

Well, I've been off the server for a while but it seems like its time for an update as there's been a new major (and a couple of minor) releases of Resonant Rise Mainline come out.

So, the server is going to be down for a short while!

Phew, I thought for a moment it was offline due to something I did (I set up a spawner.)

Nah, was hoping I'd be done by now actually. But it appears the pack makers changed item IDs for things. Which is absurd. So am going through config files.

Right, I'm gonna spin up the old version again (3.3.0.1) and report this as a bug to the pack maintainers. Something's definitely not right.

As no-one has logged in to this server since the 5th, I'm going to turn it off. If anyone would like a copy of the world file, let me know and I'll zip it up and put it somewhere for download.
