Job description

You’ll be joining our IT Support team and will become a key point of contact for schools using theSparx system and related technology, ensuring effective two-way service delivery and customersupport to key stakeholders such as teachers; students; colleagues and the management team.

You’ll use your excellent organisational skills to manage and prioritise the day-to-day operational ITsupport required to successfully deploy Sparx lessons. In reality, this means managing a considerablenumber of mobile devices and computers at the same time.

You will also provide IT support to the Sparx office team. You will need to prioritise your timebetween the school and spending time providing support for our office computers.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Represent Sparx in schools
  • Provide IT support before, during and after lessons to ensure the effective use of the Sparx
    system for classroom teaching purposes.
  • Provide IT support for those utilising the Sparx system for home-based education.
  • Maintenance of Mac and iOS software and hardware for Sparx employees.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers, including the acknowledgement, escalation and communication of progress on tasks and issues until they areresolved.

About you

 

You’re passionate about technology and have the aptitude and desire to learn more. You may be inan IT Support role already and looking for the next challenge, or just have a genuine interest intechnology and want to expand your experience.

We like a good list, so here’s an overview of some of the specific skills and experience we’re lookingfor:

 

Essential:

 

  • Degree educated with a minimum of a 2.1 classification in a relevant technical subject.
  • Experience of working with mobile devices.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to multi task, organise and maintain composure in a fast paced technical
    environment.
  • Be discreet, trustworthy and professional at all times.
  • Have the aptitude and desire to learn new technologies, systems, concepts and
    procedures.
  • Able to undertake a DBS check successfully.
  • Able to drive.
     

Desirable:

 

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MicrosoftOutlook, Microsoft Exchange, and web browser.
  • Knowledge of Apple hardware, including Mac laptops and iPads etc.
  • Knowledge of networks and servers (e.g. Linux).
  • Knowledge of Android OS and tablets.
  • Ability to analyse and diagnose technical problems.
  • Have an interest in education.
