A school I work with currently uses Teamviewer Meeting to mirror the teacher's PC desktop on an iPad for a visually impaired pupil (i.e. an exact copy of what is on the projector).

It's not great tbh. Each time she moves into a new classroom they have to enter a new session ID (unless I'm very much mistaken, there is no way to stop the session ID's changing each time? Or even to store them???). A teacher told me there are also frequent disconnects.

Has anyone got another (preferably free) solution to mirror a PC desktop to iPad? Not being able to interact with the desktop is important, so view only. It would be ideal to be able to store a few PCs, so the pupil can just click the correct class when she moves about school, instead of staff having to reconfigure it each time!

I believe you can achieve this with VNC? (configure it for view only). Anyone any experience of doing this? Any other suggestions?

We're using Reflector Student and Reflector Director; staff running Reflector Director can control which student iPad is reflected to their whiteboard (or which one is to receive a copy of their desktop). Director maintains a list of "connected" iPads, but as far as I know, the session list is temporary, so they would still need to reconnect when changing classrooms. As well as using these apps for general class use, we too have a severely visually impaired student and are hoping this will help. Pricing from Airsquirrels is quite competitive and compares very favourably with other options.
