hillskill Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Dear All, Does anyone have a HP Procurve wireless network? We have a MSM760 controller and MSM422 Access points. We were operating in a mixed mode b/g/a/n as we had some older clients and access points which didn't support n but these have now gone. I would like to now change and run in n mode only. Does anyone know what changes I need to make in VSC section to make this happen? Thanks in advance.
kenman Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Hi, On the MSM-760 controller, there should be a place under "VSC Profile" to check off which modes and channels you wish to use. Just uncheck all except those you want to be active.
FragglePete Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 We have this, and I believe you can't turn off a particular mode completely (I tried this a while back). What you can do is remove some of the allowed wireless rates, which reduces down the number of modes and speeds it will offer. We've had some issues with slow clients recently and one tricked our re-seller has tried is removing some of the 'lower' wireless rates in each band. So far, this seems to have improved things a lot. Pete
