School’s Financial Accountant – Hertfordshire * URGENT *

up to £35,000 plus benefits (free lunches, parking, gym, swimming pool etc.)

 

Our client, a large independent School in Hertfordshire are looking for a Financial Accountant to join their Accounts team.

 

To be short-listed for an interview, you will ideally have an accountancy background in the independent education sector and good knowledge of the law and practice relating to Income Tax, PAYE, pensions, benefits in kind and VAT.

 

A formal accountancy qualification is highly desirable coupled with knowledge of the principles and methods of accounting, including the preparation of statutory Company and ideally Charity accounts.

You must be proficient in using MS Office and familiar with various financial systems packages.

Specific knowledge of WCBS is also highly desirable.

 

The role itself is varied and will include providing broad-based financial management expertise within the Accounts department with responsibility for the fee billing and collection function for the School and oversight of all aspects of the Accounts department’s work.
