drsox Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 (edited) Hello everyone. I have a problem with every computer across one site where SMART Notebook 11 will randomly stop accepting pen / touch input on the toolbar (not the floating toolbar but the actual toolbar for changing page or tool in Notebook itself). During all this time the writing area of Notebook will continue to function normally. Elements such as the start menu outside of Notebook also function normally. Moving over to the computer and using the mouse on the toolbar works and then the selected tool can be used in the notebook writing area. The problem will appear randomly on a computer and disappear as randomly as it appeared. Sometimes doing ctrl+alt+delete and then clicking Cancel solves the problem, other times it does not. Often the problem will go away by itself. Reports from teachers also seem to suggest that rebooting doesn't fix it! Has anyone seen this before or does anyone have any advice on what to try? Thank you! Edited February 3, 2016 by drsox
Michael Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 What build of Smart Notebook 11 (should be 11.4) and on which whiteboard model?
drsox Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 SMART LightRaise 60wi and build 11.3.857.0 (I guess upgrading that is the first thing I can try.. will have to wait until Friday though).
Michael Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Smart Notebook 11.4, along with a newer driver - not sure where you're going to get them from as Smart have removed all links to these older versions.
DJ-1701 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Smart Notebook 11.4, along with a newer driver - not sure where you're going to get them from as Smart have removed all links to these older versions. I downloaded Smart Notebook 11.4 last month from the SmartTech website. Just needed to enter the registration code and it offers the 11.4 version if not valid for the newer subscription version.
drsox Posted February 16, 2016 Author Posted February 16, 2016 Smart software upgrade didn't fix it.. however I have just stumbled across this: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/av-multimedia-related/135655-anyone-using-smart-lightraise-60wi-interactive-projectors-2.html#post1419815 Someone else with exactly the same problem!
drsox Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 Another school of mine has started doing similar now too but this school only has one LightRaise 60wi! And it is the only board that has the problem. I'm going to see if the very latest SMART Notebook changes anything.
drsox Posted June 5, 2016 Author Posted June 5, 2016 For those that might be having the same problem.. it goes away if you use Driver 12.2 SMART Product Drivers 12.2 and Ink 2.3 for Windows - SMART Technologies However the screenshot tool then goes wrong - this can be fixed by copying snapshot.exe from the "Education Software" folder into the "SMART Product Drivers" folder and then opening SMART notebook again.
