Meraki MDM Settings not saving

Hi

I'm setting up a Cisco Meraki network from the management site to manage a small number of iPads.

I have created a Profile and edited the settings.

 

if I untick a couple of options or even one such as camera, or facetime and click SAVE it says the changes are saved.

 

However, if I go back into the settings the tick has re-appeared.

 

Anyone know why or whether there is currently any issues with the system??

Are you using Meraki soley to create the profiles? We used configurator to create them then managed them in Meraki. It worked really well.

Do you need a MAC to do that? It was working but now that wanted to set up some additional profiles the settings no longer seem to save.

Do it need to be a Mac server to create it or how do you create it from an iMac/MacBook as assume you have to make a mobileconfig file somehow to then import into the meraki interface?

Any news on this? Literally opened one of the primary schools new iPads, having a play with Meraki MDM Profiles and like you mentioned settings within the profile aren't actually sticking. Rather annoying!!

I have a set too, hence when I noticed it! I contacted support and apparently it has been reported and the engineers are working on it but had no update since!

We have it on an iMac (not a server) also have it on a macbook as well. I have been thinking about the settings issue. Am wondering if the recent iOS update 9.1 has caused this for you. It only affected iPads that are managed by MDM's. Apple have released a new update to fix this and I got an email this morning telling me. Try updating your pads and see if it helps.

I have just tried the settings and they now appear to be working again.

Changed the profile and apps are changing on the ipad when checking in!

I feel your pain I really do. I have roughly 450 of the beggars to manage and it can be a nightmare at times.

I just hope we never go down that route! we cannot even trust Staff with them!

We have school iPads configured on AC2 & are managed by Meraki MDM. Everything seems to be working fine, but I seem to be having trouble when pushing Apps out though Meraki, they seem to start installing but then just tell me that they are waiting.

 

Does anyone possibly know were I might be going wrong.

I've not used AC before, so don't know the ins and outs of it but have you attempted to bake your apple ID into the config or something similar? I'm currently waiting for our DEP application to go through so I can mange them 'over the air' as we don't have a Mac/Server.

 

I have an iPad in MDM which I've been playing with that allows me to push apps out fine. However it's not been touched by AC or DEP yet, only turned on and had Meraki push the profile, settings and apps down.

Update the iPads to iOS 9.2.1 might help you...

Haven't done that with mine yet and I can still push apps, but worth a try.

All up to date with the latest update of the apps, followed all the instructions as set out by Meraki... Still nothing... I know were we work, the students will just mess about changing settings and wallpapers, so the iPads are pretty much locked down, but still, the over the air push out of apps should still work.

Firstly I found Meraki's new interface very flaky, on the web page somewhere there should be an option to revert to the old one which works 100% fine.

 

Secondly, make sure you're adding tags to each profile and then assigning the tags to the iPads. Give us a shout if you need any help, I've been using Meraki to manage our fleet of iPads without using our Mac server or Apple Configurator at all (although we will change this soon so we can silently push apps).

 

I made my life easier internally, I configured a new Wireless network for mobile devices such as iPads that used a transparent proxy, then I created authentication/filtering/download manager exceptions for any domains to do with Apple (iTunes/iCloud etc) and all domains to do with Meraki, before I did this we just kept running into one problem after another with apps failing to install etc.

If you have any documentation i could take a peek at i'd be most grateful, as this is now giving me a headache and staff keep pestering me when i'm not onsite for apps to be installed there and then.... Cheers
