cpjitservices Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Hi all, Just a quick one, I have the above router at a remote site. At site there is a PBX on for example 10.10.1.1, with 2 Virtual Interfaces which are 10.10.1.2, 10.10.1.3. PC's on the network can ping all 3 addresses. For some reason the Draytek, Which is the LAN Router in which everything is connected can only ping 10.10.1.1. Firewall is configured as out of the box. Any ideas ? Thanks
twin--turbo Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 does the router have a 10.10.1.0 ip address??
cpjitservices Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 Yes, its on the same range as everything else, PC's Phones etc... PC's can ping all 3 interfaces but the Draytek cannot... The Draytek is the gateway for the network.
RobD Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Check the routes on the dratrek, I once had a static route that I couldn't get rid of on a draytek. Had to reset it in the end.
cpjitservices Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 Ill check but no static routes as far as I'm aware. Will put a ticket into Draytek.
twin--turbo Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 What are the actual IP's of the PBX and Draytek and the subnet masks
cpjitservices Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 Router is 192.168.1.254.... PBX has, 192.168.1.2,1.3 and 1.4. PC's are on the range between 1.10 and 1.50
ReBoot Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 (edited) You could take a look at the ARP cache on the router to see if its been able to resolve the problem IPs to MAC addresses on your LAN. I guess as these are virtual IPs all the PBX addresses are using the same physical port. If this is the case it suggests something internal to the PBX as all the IPs are using the same physical interface and MAC (which must be working if you can ping one address). Also assume there are no VLANs involved. Edited January 20, 2016 by ReBoot
twin--turbo Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Just tried from my 2830 to my Home Linux Server with a newly created subinterface and it worked no problem. Add a second IP to one of the PC's and see if you can ping hat. I would then look at the subnet mask of the two virtual PBX IP's and ensure it's 255.255.255.0 and not something like 255.255.255.128 TT
cpjitservices Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 Right, all subnet masks are /24. Ping is enabled on PBX as all PC's can ping all of the interfaces of the PBX. I can ping the PC's from The Draytek and vice versa. Firmware is up to date on the router so thinking it might be some kind of a bug. Thanks guys.
twin--turbo Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 have you tried SSHing and pinging from the console? There's lots of hidden commands in the console that may help. it's under ip ping
