chazzy2501 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 1. I have a central store but I think this only affects the rules under admin template right? 2. any how, under windows settings security advance firewall I've decided to add some rules (as the wizard is a little more friendly than the old way). I've made some rules (outbound) then did a gpo refresh on a client they were not there... goin back to the gpedit the rules are not there.... I've done this twice now... The group policy object (in question) is on the sysvol of the pdc (not local) why would it not save the firewall changes?
DavR Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 When I was redoing my firewall policy the other month (and by "redoing", I mean "enabling", argh, inherited system), I thought I'd try putting all my firewall rules under the new Advanced Firewall section, it's so much neater. However, I did find that these would be wiped out again if I made any changes to the classic firewall settings under Network/Network Connections/Windows Firewall/Domain Profile. Solution was to make sure I had all the settings I wanted under classic settings before going into the new rules and adding my exceptions.
