Google search problems with Palto Alto

Since these changes https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/t5/Management-Articles/App-ID-changes-to-Google-apps/ta-p/66890 we have been unable to enforce safe search on google.com.

On our student test machine we run chrome and safe search is enabled. But as soon as you try it in IE it is turned off.

We don't have Chrome installed on the student machines yet but it looks like we will have to go this way as Google seem to be forcing people to use their browser.

Have anyone managed to get it working on IE ?

Thank you interesting , problem we have is that when we try to create a CNAME using the DNS hack it just keeps coming up with an error.

Even when we try a powershell script it comes up with errors. I'm sure it's not the Palto alto causing the problems.

We are running Windows server 2012 r2.

Definitely not your Palo Alto...

 

What's the error message? There might be more info in Event Viewer on DNS as well.

We have finally got Google safe search working , a big thank you to jameshart on the forum here for the help. really appreciated.

Only problem we now have is that some of the computers in the school are on I.E. 10 and the response page here that redirects the Students to safesearch wont work https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/documentation/70/pan-os/pan-os/url-filtering/enable-transparent-safe-search-enforcement.html#30017 . It just sends the Students back to the School portal. No problems with I.E. 11

The update for I.E.11 is being pushed out on the network but with over 50 laptops and various devices that are not used for long periods of time it would be good to have a version of the response page that includes I.E. 10

Even if its a short term fix. I'd imagine that it is a small adjustment in the html code, not one of my strong points!
