nathan3388 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Hi Was just wondering if anyone knows how to get firmware back onto a z7363 access point, it was halfway through the firmware upgrade when there was a power cut and now the access point cannot talk to the ZD or to a standalone computer. Was wondering if anyone know's how to get the firmware back on these access points when they cannot talk to the network??. Any help will be useful. Thanks Nathan
Joanne Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 If you hold down the reset button for like 30 seconds, what does that do?
Net-Ctrl Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Whilst the unit is powered up, put a small pin in to the reset hole (may not actually say 'reset') for 12 seconds, that will factory reset the AP, then try again. Hopefully that will help.
nathan3388 Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 None of that worked it powers on the only light that stays on though is the 2.4G light all the other lights are off
Joanne Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 is it still under warranty? Might have to send it back!
nathan3388 Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 nope they are end of life wifi points and from the US so cannot take them back . Was see if there was another way to flash the firmware to the device other than via the network
IrritableTech Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Is it getting an IP address - or was it set with a static? I'd be tempted to see if I could ssh into it to see how dead it really is first.
Geoff Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 sounds like it's bricked. In these sort of situations (my only experience is with home routesrs) you have to solder on a jtag cable and reflash the eeprom with a compatible tool using a PC.
snagrat Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I have you can have if you are willing to pay the postage. Probably cost £5 or so
