We have started getting the following error in our Active Directory event log.

NTDS (652) NTDSA: Database C:\Windows\NTDS\ntds.dit: Index DRA_USN_index of table datatable is corrupted (0).

The Active directory seems to be working correctly.

The online defrag of the database that happens every 12 hours also seems to pass without issue - does this passing mean that the database is ok?

Anyone have any pointers on how to stop this?

We have done basic memory, hard drive checks on the hardware and all seems ok.

Server OS - Windows 2008 R2

Raid Controller - LSI MedaRAID SAS 9260-8i

Raid Config on drive with corruption - Raid 1

We havent had any DC failures.

There has been an issue with one of the disk volumes on another drive (seperate raid controller and Raid 5 volume) - but a scan disk has fixed that

What sort of failures are you meaning?

Although there was a hard crash (required server reboot) the day before - but we thought it was encryption causing the issue

The secondary domain controller has been having these issues for a while (its exactly the same hardware etc) and we have been demoting it and re-adding it to fix the ntds.dit on that server (seemed to work fine)

I'm just more concerned as this one is the primary and I haven't done FMSO moving and stuff before - and was really hoping for a less scary option
