ICT Direct in 2016 – A Memory Upgrade & Our Cheapest (and fastest) SSD Ever!

Welcome all to 2016, may the New Year be even better than the last!

It’s been some time since we had a major overhaul of our basic specification, but this year we’re proud to announce that all of our Desktop PCs will now ship with a standard 6GB RAM. You may have noticed that the website has been updated to reflect this.

We’re not stopping there however, this year we’re offering you the chance to buy our fastest ever Solid State Drive at our very cheapest price – Just £35 for 128 lightning-fast gigabytes.

Oh and for those of you who don’t currently know, we now offer our now legendary ‘No Quibble’ warranty in 60-month (5 Year) desktop, and 36-month (3 Year) laptop formats. You can now buy with confidence, knowing that you have cover for the full duration of a 5 year replacement cycle.

So what else can you expect from us this year?

Well, as always, we're constantly striving to source the highest-spec, best-value business class hardware to refurbish to our high standards. We're confident that we'll be able to offer you the bets value on the market whilst meeting all expectations.

To help us we are right in the middle of a whole host of upgrades and adjustments across the whole company:

Our mezzanine floor is already in place. As is our new two-storey component racking system

Work has started on our new production workshop under the new floor. when it's completed up to ten people will be able to process, clean and test new stock and components as they arrive with us. They'll be using the new hardware testing software that we're getting designed which should eliminate any faulty parts almost before they make it through the door.

Our outbound production line is running smoothly and now ships in excess of 300 units per day IMG.jpg

As always, our hard-working staff are what make us a success, and with our latest batch of new recruits we're sure to continute working to the high standards expected of us.

When our upgrades are complete later in the year we reckon we'll be in the very best position possible to push on and eventually TAKE OVER THE WORLD sell even more refurbished hardware(oops).

And despite all the changes and expansion, we remain a company that still knows how to have a bit of a laugh (many of you will know how seriously we take our car park cricket), here you can see Jim and Matt contesting the final of 'World War 4' Jim the defending champion from WW3 - and representing Greenland lost 7-5 to Matt's brave men of San Marino. My Own Micronesia were eliminated in the second round :(

Once again, Happy New Year here's to a most excellent 2016, and don't forget you can come visit John & Myself as this months BETT show. Catch us on Stand B68 where you'll be able to play a little Elite:Dangerous if you're lucky!

Sounds good :) Two questions, 5 year warranty on all desktops what's the cost for upgrades etc? (Same to 3 year laptops)

Also when will you update website stock! :p I feel a pain constantly asking for information when trying to plan things out and stuff :( Example being I keep hearing about servers/storage but can't see any

5 year warranty on desktops will set you back £40-£45 depending on model, no need to upgrade to the three year first. Laptop warranties will be £20-£35 for the three years, depending on the model chosen as we already offer a 2 year warranty on some Dell Models.

With regard to the website, I know it's a pain, sorry about that, it was the first time we'd used Magento and we didn't do it as well as we could have. Coming in a few months (probably May-June tbh) will be a whole new site designed from the ground up. It will integrate with Microsoft NAV which we've had being customised to meet our specific requirements for the past year. At that point every single component that we have in the building will have live stock in the backend of our website, allowing me to knock together a product in ten minutes. These new products will be configurable from the chassis up and configuration options will be drawn from the live stock count in the warehouse meaning you'll only able to build out what we have. It will also look smarter and run more quickly. I'll try and bring you more updates on this as I get them :)
