kachori Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hi A workstation on our school network is stuck on TasksetRunner|Running task, 'install SIMS Applications', in install mode Many thanks!
Skyjack Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Hi there, I too have the problem with Solus 3 being stuck in install mode. Trying to do the FMS Autumn 2015 upgrade and got the 'TasksetRunner|Running task' error. Did you manage to fix it? If so could you let me know what you did? Thanks, Neil
dapaulio Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) Log on to the client and check the fms version reflects was s3 says it is. Log on to the affected client. Is there an available update on the client agent? If so try updating from the cliebt agent. Ping the affected machine then tracert the ip address that is resolved. It should be name you pinged. If not then dns is incorrect and it is likely what computer s3 thinks its deploying to is not actually the computer. You may want to reinstall the agent. When Client errors in s3 in normally times out after 30 mins (default setting) tend to timeout after 30 mins during the update. Have you tried restarting the pc that is stuck and redeploying. winng Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) Two further options: 1. ESS Upgrade tool, previously provided by Capita support 2. @matt40k provides a solution which moves the status to Failed https://s3unlock.codeplex.com/ Edited January 14, 2016 by winng 1
Skyjack Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 It turns out that I just needed to wait (for about an hour). The workstations all required a reboot for fms to load (oddly I installed the sims upgrade and the workstations needed a reboot then as well). Thanks for your support.
kachori Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 Thanks everyone and sorry for the late response! I got fed up and manually installed SIMS as only one workstation was affected. I received a response later from support suggesting we upgrade our Solus3 Agent service as we were on 3.6 and apparently it 'was full of bugs'
