Hi,

I have recently purchased a SMART Board SB660. Everything is fine but when I touch the left hand side of the board (Pen or Finger) the ink or cursor moves about three centimetre's away from where I touched. The board is currently mounted on a old whiteboard and the edge of the whiteboard is metal. The board will be moved soon. We have tried to move the board so there was not metal on metal connection but no help.

If you could help that would be great. I am hoping that it is an easy fix and that it wont cost much!

Thank you.

Presume you have calibrated the board using the Smart software? If its still not accurate using the max 20 dot calibration there is a higher dot setting but only accesible via the diagnostic program to turn that feature on, think.its zomething like 40 dots. Thats an old board though. Make sure firmware is the latest version it can use.

Does the white membrane (the layer the pen/fingers touch) feel like its not tight (ie, theres a bit of a press on the white membrane).

Try @TechSupp suggestion, the diagonstic dots are 80 dots and cures most of the problems.

There is one last thing you can try, relaying the white membrane. It requires taking the plastic sides off, peelibg of the stuck white membrane, giving it a quick waft and relaying it. I've done a help guide on it and its on here somewhere.

I have calibrated the board with the smart software. I have completed an 80 point calibration. The white membrane is tight. We took the board away from the old whiteboard that is behind it and this helped the problem, there is still a little area about three quarters of the way down the board. Thank you for your help.
