Preventing Mis-Use of Office 365

Morning All,

 

We have a small number of users who are misusing the distribution groups and are sending emails to our 'All students' distribution groups.

Is there any way of stopping students sending emails to the 'all students' group?

I don;t have O365 for email but if it's anything like exchange 2013 then open the group's properties , delivery management and in the message restriction settings set it to AllStaff (or your equivalent)

or if you have heads of year that would like to be involved then set message approval in the properties and tick the box/add the approvers

Its the same in Office 365

open the group in O365 click on delivery managment then you can restrict it from there

While you're in the Admin console look for user-created Groups if you haven't disabled it. Users can create their own collaboration spaces, great feature but also prone to some rather random content appearing too.
